In 1994 professors Bob de Wit and Ron Meyer published Strategy - Process, Content, Context: An International Perspective, which introduced a radically new approach to strategic thinking and strategy development. This book, used at 120 universities across Europe, sold more than 50.000 copies.

To take this approach from the university to the business world, De Wit and Meyer merged their consulting activities in 1998, to form Strategy Works.

In 2004, the third edition of Strategy was published worldwide, so far selling more than 150.000 copies and used at more than 200 universities and business schools.
